Chicken wings

This is one of those dishes that kids love and adults devour at casual lunches and dinners. It is very easy to prepare and fills the kitchen with a rich sweet and sour smell. You can accompany them with chips but you can also do it with a good salad or some roast potatoes.

Ingredients:

For the spice mix:

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 teaspoons onion
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

For the honey barbecue sauce:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons of water
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 3 tablespoons of orange juice

The rest:

  • 1 kilo of chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 4 of water

Preparation:

  1. In a saucepan mix all the ingredients of the barbecue sauce and heat over low heat until they are all integrated. Reserve.
  2. In a low Efficient saucepan , put a tablespoon of oil and brown the wings. When they are golden, add the sauce and cover. Cook for half an hour over low heat until the chicken is tender.
  3. To make the sauce a little thicker, in a bowl mix the cornstarch with the water. When it is dissolved, add to the saucepan and cook, stirring non-stop, until it has thickened. Return the wings to the saucepan and give a final boil.
