Christmas Recipes: 3 Starters That Will Surprise Everyone
✨ Classic Falafel Ingredients:
- 350 g chickpeas (soaked overnight)
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Fresh parsley
- Coriander seeds
- Cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- A splash of lemon juice
- Oil for frying
Steps:
- Place the chickpeas, parsley, onion, garlic, coriander and cumin seeds, salt and lemon juice in a food processor.
- Blend until smooth. If necessary, add a little water to facilitate the process.
- Form balls of the desired size with the dough.
- Fry the balls in hot oil until golden brown. Serve hot.
✨ Crunchy Mushroom Sacks Ingredients:
- 1 onion
- 1 tray of mushrooms
- Filo dough
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
- Vegan cheese (optional)
Steps:
- Finely chop the onion and mushrooms. Fry them in a pan with a little oil.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and let the filling cool slightly.
- Cut the filo dough into squares. Place 3 or 4 layers together to give it extra firmness.
- Fill with the mushroom mixture and, if desired, a little vegan cheese.
- Seal into a pouch and bake according to the instructions on the filo dough packet (usually between 180°C and 200°C for 10-15 minutes).
✨ Herbal Butter Candles Ingredients:
- 1 package of butter
- Fresh herbs: sage, rosemary, thyme
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- Pepper (or spices to taste)
- Silicone molds
Steps:
- Melt the vegan butter in a pan over low heat along with the herbs, garlic and pepper. Cook for a few minutes to absorb the flavours.
- Pour the mixture into silicone molds. If you want to simulate a candle, you can place a whole walnut in the center.
- Refrigerate or freeze until solid. Unmold carefully.
- To serve, light the "nut" for a spectacular presentation and accompany them with bread or crackers.
