Homemade yogurt recipe with blueberry coulis
Making yogurt at home is one of the options that I had in mind for a long time, but since I didn't have a yogurt maker I had never decided. Until I discovered that you don't need a yogurt maker to make yogurt and I decided to get to work.
The result, a delicious yogurt, with a wonderful texture, exactly the same as that of the best yogurts. The secret? As in everything, it's in the ingredients, organic fresh milk and organic yogurt, they are a little more expensive but you will appreciate it. You have to think of a yogurt you will get another 10, thus multiplying itself by magic. So the yogurt that you choose, that is of very good quality and organic if possible.
Ingredients
- 1L of fresh whole milk (if possible organic)
- 1 organic Greek yogurt
Preparation
Heat the milk in a saucepan (in this case we have used the BRA's Prior wok ). We must heat it up to a temperature of 85ºC, just before it starts to boil and smoke. Transfer to a bowl and let cool to 45ºC and add the yogurt, stirring carefully.
We cover with clean kitchen towels and plastic wrap in a warm place in the house, the oven is a good option because it will also retain the heat of the bowl. We leave it for about 6-8 hours to ferment.
We refrigerate in a recent airtight container and enjoy the homemade yogurt!
Ingredients
- 500g fresh or frozen blueberries (I buy fresh and freeze)
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of water
Preparation
We wash the fruit well and put it in a saucepan together with the sugar and water, mashing them with a fork to release their juice and let them cook over low heat for about 10 minutes. If necessary, we can add more water to the blueberries.
Remove from heat and whisk or pass through a strainer.
