The fish suquet is a traditional stew of the Catalan and Valencian Mediterranean fishermen. This was the way to take advantage of leftover fish that were not sold and incidentally it was used to give the fishermen a hot dish. Currently many restaurants on the Costa Brava serve this dish accompanied by the best pieces of fish.
